BLOSSOM MICROBIOTICS
Evidence-led, microbial active ingredients for sensitive skin and scalp applications.
Blossom Microbiotics develops proprietary microbial-derived dermocosmetic active ingredients, grounded in clinical & scientific research, for partners building products for sensitive, reactive, barrier-stressed skin and scalp.
THE PLATFORM
A proprietary dermocosmetic active platform

IntegraBiome Technology
Blossom’s proprietary fermentation and compositional-integration platform uses defined microbial strains and controlled postbiotic processing to create intentionally designed dermocosmetic active systems.
Focus Areas
Sensitive & reactive skin
Barrier-stressed skin where comfort, hydration, and visible skin condition matter.
Sebum-rich areas
Facial and scalp zones where excess sebum, visible flakes, and discomfort often overlap.
Scalp
Scalp-focused products supporting a calmer, more balanced scalp and reduced visible flaking.
Blossom ingredient systems can be evaluated as active powder/materials or through prototype cream and serum formats, with supporting technical substantiation materials and application/formulation guidance.
Additional active programs are in development.
THE EVIDENCE
Built on human clinical evidence, not just lab signals.
Lead active: BMB ZymoCore™
BMB ZymoCore™ is a multi-component postbiotic active developed using IntegraBiome Technology and evaluated in registered, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human studies involving barrier-stressed skin and sebum-rich skin and scalp areas.
Publicly registered on ClinicalTrials.gov
What we measure: skin, sebum-rich areas & scalp
Barrier function · Hydration · Skin texture, roughness & smoothness · Sebum level · Redness · Visible flakes & scalp condition · Skin & scalp comfort · Tolerability · Microbiome analysis · Biomarker signals (where relevant)

WHY BLOSSOM
Why Blossom is different
A claims story your teams can stand behind
Defined composition + controlled processing + safety & tolerability testing + human clinical evidence = a substantiation story your formulation, claims, innovation and product development teams can trust.

Defined & reproducible -not a generic ferment
Characterized wild-type microbial strains and controlled postbiotic processing, support teh development of reproducible active systems.
Designed around skin biology
Sensitive skin/scalp concerns are rarely driven by a single pathway. Blossom’s platform is designed around three connected dimensions: microbiome-associated biology, inflammatory signaling, and barrier resilience; the biology behind calmer, healthier, better-protected skin.
Human clinical evidence - not ingredient storytelling
Registered, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human studies supported by validated clinical scoring, instrument-based endpoints & molecular/ biomarker analysis.
Flexible B2B evaluation & product development
Substantiation materials, technical support, prototype formats, and application/formulation guidance, to show how the active may perform in finished product concepts.
ABOUT
A short founder note
I am Veena Unnithan, Ph.D., PMP, a microbiology scientist with more than a decade of industry experience developing microbial solutions across different applications and real-world challenges.
I founded Blossom Microbiotics from both scientific conviction and personal need: as a mother looking for a better, evidence-based option for my son’s sensitive, reactive skin, and as a scientist who believes the potential of microbes and the microbiome is still largely untapped, especially in skin/scalp health.
Blossom is built around a simple principle: microbiome-centered dermocosmetic active ingredients should be clinically evaluated, well-defined, safety-conscious, and developed with science before marketing.
My goal is to build ingredient systems that partner teams can evaluate with confidence for sensitive & barrier-stressed skin and scalp applications.
